Past Perfect Tense

The usage of this tense is to express that something occurred before another action in the past. The action that was already completed in the past is referred to as past perfect tense. The sentences are formed by Subject + HAD + past participle of the verb. It doesn’t matter if the subject is singular or plural, the formula is the same for all.

Example : I had played cricket yesterday.

Played Past participle of the verb
